"We started Cabin Ridge Rides in 1986. Our tourism experience was extremely limited. My father started selling cut-your-own Christmas Trees on the property in 1958 and that was the extent of our marketing knowledge. We soon joined the Bureau as we realized we lacked both the experience and financial ability to market our business on our own.
By joining the Bureau we were able to reach a large market and also had the opportunity for learning experiences. One of the largest benefits was the connections we made with other businesses reaching out to the same market we were. Tourists, expecially motor coaches, are more interested in coming to the Chippewa Valley when they see a wide range of attractions they can visit. The reasons to join the Bureau remain the same as they did 20 years ago. With all the advances in technology I still need assistance keeping up with all the new marketing possibilities. With the weak economy financially, joining with others to promote my business is a necessity. We must all join together to promote the Chippewa Valley. Judy Gilles
